THE ART OF LIVING IN DC

If the purpose of an open house is to get as much foot traffic through the door so folks can create a buzz about the property in the community, why do we limit who we invite and make it an uneventful affair?

I know there are pros and cons to opening the doors to anyone who might be in the neighborhood and may not necessarily be serious buyers, but I believe the pros outweigh the cons and depending on how you plan and play up the open house experience it not only markets the home, it highlights the community where the home is located, creates partnerships, supports local artists and businesses and provides an excellent networking opportunity.  It is also an opportunity to invite neighbors so they can help spread the word.

Shaw Sells DC presents The Art of Living in DC:Open House Experiences to feature vacant properties for sell and the communities where they are located.  Similar to a pop-up shop, The Art of Living in DC takes advantage of the variety of cultural experiences in the city and provides just a taste of them under one roof for a brief period of time while marketing the availability of a home for sell in a desirable neighborhood at a great price.

Although the experience is outside of a standard marketing budget, there are simple ways to manage the budget so it does not become cost prohibitive.  But regardless of the expense, the return on investment is well worth the time, energy and positivity it creates.

Cheryl Shaw developed the concept from her work in the nonprofit community.  Producing fundraising events and networking was part of her world.  Marketing a mission to engage new audiences was the goal.  This is no different.  The mission is to sell the home and to do it by featuring its attributes to a new audience.  What will attract that audience differs by community.  But in Metro DC it is usually a social atmosphere with art, food, music and community.

The next Art of Living in DC Open House Experience will be held at 2625 Sherman Avenue NW, Washington DC and is scheduled January 20th & 21st from 1pm-4pm with the support of Developer GP Real Estate Investments LLC, general contractor Alizzi Construction LLC and fine artist Dr. Yemonja Smalls, photographer Monique Alicia Gamble and Multi-Instrumentalist Saleem Wayne Waters.  Come by for the experience, spread the word and contact Cheryl Shaw to create your own Open House Experience!  When staging may not be enough to get the traffic you need!
